Man and woman shot in Belize City

By BBN Staff: A man and a woman are receiving medical treatment after being shot in Belize City this afternoon.

Police say that Eugene Thompson, 38, was fixing his bicycle on Plues Street around 2:30 p.m. when someone rode up to him on a bicycle and opened fire on him, hitting him in several places. Janine Lamb, 31, was also shot twice during the incident.

They were both taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment.

Police are investigating.
