New business ventures in Corozal get Trade License fee break

Posted: Wednesday, February 17, 2021. 9:44 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected all businesses. Several businesses are still running with minimum staff and since income is not the same, many have opted to cut costs.

But, the Corozal Town Council says that after assessing the impact of COVID19 on businesses that have been most impacted due to their vulnerability under the pandemic, it has decided to provide some form of relief.

Mayor Rigo Vellos says that the council’s decision to give a trade license fee break was to allow the growth of new business ventures led by young entrepreneurs in Corozal.

The Council says that it is further reviewing its tax structure to apply greater support to the business community.

Vellos says that he is committed to ensuring that positive business ventures prosper in their community.
