By BBN Staff: People who have received their 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can skip COVID-19 quarantine, CNN reports.
According to the report, it was advice given by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the US.
Those people who have been vaccinated can actually skip the quarantine if they have been exposed to someone with the virus.
The CDC noted that those people should still take precautions.
“Fully vaccinated persons who meet criteria will no longer be required to quarantine following an exposure to someone with COVID-19,” the CDC noted.
The criteria is that they must have had both shots within 2 weeks.
Those who took the shots longer than that time frame are advised to quarantine once exposed.
“This recommendation to waive quarantine for people with vaccine-derived immunity aligns with quarantine recommendations for those with natural immunity, which eases implementation,” the CDC said.
The CDC said that people who have been vaccinated should still watch for symptoms for 14 days after they have been exposed to someone who is infected with COVID-19.
