Belize Weather: Not as cold as Texas, but Belize shivers this weekend

By BBN Staff: Cool and windy conditions prevail behind a cold front according to the National Meteorological Service.

In the 24-hour forecast, skies will be cloudy at times with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms occurring mainly offshore this morning. A few showers and periods of rain will affect mostly central and southern parts of the country this afternoon and tonight.

Winds are from the north to northwest, gusty, at 15 to 25 knots. The sea state is moderate to rough. A small craft warning is in effect for strong winds and rough seas. Operators of small crafts should stay in a safe harbor.

Most of the country will see average high temperatures of 77 degrees Fahrenheit; in the hills, it will be 68 degrees. Tonight, temps fall to 68 degrees along the coast, 64 inland, and 58 in the hills.

Tides: will be low this morning at 9:34 a.m. The next high tide is at 3:48 p.m. The sun rose this morning at 6:16 a.m. It will set at 5:56 p.m.

The extended outlook for Sunday and Sunday night is for a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms occurring mostly over central and southern Belize.
