Resort owner rescued from Private Heaven

By BBN Staff: Last night, BBN reported that Christian Gusenbaur, a resort owner was shot on his private resort, Private Heaven on Lark Caye range. Shortly thereafter he called for help on social media.

Police and Coast Guard personnel responded and rescued Christian Gusenbaur and took him for medical attention.

“I have multiple bullets in my body and getting transported to a hospital in Belize City right now. The guys who robbed me tried to kill me, did not stop shooting with their pump gun through my windows, door, and walls even after taking my money and boat key,” Gusenbaur said on social media.

Gusenbaur says that his attackers were shooting non-stop for 30 minutes and they were speaking Creole.

“Everything is destroyed by the pumpgun bullets and I survived blocking my bedroom door with a mattress. They shot the lock but I did not stop pressing my body against the mattress and the door. They kept shooting, but couldn’t get inside my bedroom, that’s how I got shot. I can’t believe I’m still alive, I was sure to die,” he added.

Gusenbaur thanked everyone who organized the police to rescue him.

The Coast Guard is yet to issue a statement confirming or denying if the attackers were pirates.
