By BBN Staff: As the world continues to roll out vaccines to priority groups with the hopes of getting the COVID-19 pandemic under control, global infections have climbed well over 111 million according to Worldometer.
The latest COVID-19 statistics puts the global infection count at 111,729,153. There are currently more than 22.2 million active cases with 94,168 (0.4%) of those considered serious/critical.
More than 2.47 million have lost their lives to COVID-19 but over 86.8 million have managed to recover.
The United States, which is the hardest-hit country in the world by the pandemic, has confirmed over 28.7 million infections and 509,875 deaths.
India, the second hardest-hit country in the world by the number of infections, has seen over 10.9 million confirmed cases and 156,339 deaths.
Brazil, the third hardest-hit country in the world by the number of infections, has over 10.1 million confirmed cases. However, it remains the second hardest-hit by way of deaths relating to COVID-19, with a total of 246,006 deaths.
Meanwhile, Belize has seen 12,244 confirmed cases with 314 deaths related to the virus.
