By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after pulling a knife on his neighbor and threatening to kill him.
Cleon Jones, 40, appeared unrepresented in Belize City Magistrateโs Court and pleaded not guilty to the two criminal offenses, one count of aggravated assault with a knife and threatening words.
The Court offered Jones bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same which he was able to meet.
The complainant Randolph Tillett, explains that he lives in the upper flat of a house on Lizarraga Avenue while Jones lives in the lower flat. He said that on Sunday, February 21, he was standing outside of his residence when he got into an altercation with Jones.
During the altercation, Jones reportedly pulled out a knife and told him โAh wah kill yuhโฆโ causing him to fear for his life and run away.
Jones is set to return to court on April 19, 2021.
