By BBN Staff: Thomas Ferguson, 29, received fines amounting to over $1,800 on Monday, after pleading guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.
Ferguson showed up to court and wasted no time in pleading guilty to being in possession of one 40-inch flat screen tv and an electric saw, which were stolen by another man from the home of Belize City fisherman Henry Daly, 55.
He was fined $800 on one count and another $1,000 along with $5 cost of court for each charge.
The Court ordered Ferguson to pay half of the $800 fine forthwith and the balance by April 30, 2021. He was also required to pay half of the $1,000 fine forthwith and the balance by May 31, 2021.
Police say that Ferguson assisted them in recovering two items, while several others have yet to be recovered.
