Elderly man survives robbery that could have been fatal, culprit changed his mind

By BBN Staff: An elderly man from Ladyville Village survived a robbery yesterday that was reportedly almost fatal but the culprit had a last-minute change of heart.

Roy Anthony Jervis, 64, says he was at a friend’s house when two men, both armed with guns came into the yard. Jervis told police that one of the men said he was sent to kill him, but he decided to rob Jervis instead.

The men robbed Jervis of $4,000 cash, his phone, and his licensed .380 pistol then escaped.

Police say they have interviewed several people and obtained useful information in an ongoing investigation.
