Couple robbed at gunpoint in their own home, husband assaulted

By BBN Staff: Four men forced their way into the home of a Punta Gorda couple yesterday and robbed them at gunpoint.

Police say that around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sarah Ack and Umberto Cuc heard a knock at the front door and Cuc went to answer it. When he opened the door, a man pointed a black handgun at him and three others barged inside demanding money.

The men stole the couple’s cell phones and Cuc’s wallet containing $730 along with various ID cards.

During the incident, one of the men hit Cuc in the head with an object so hard that he began bleeding.

The group escaped shortly after.

Police are investigating.
