Over 113 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported around the world

By BBN Staff: As the COVID-19 pandemic goes into its second year, around the world over 113 million people have been infected by the virus, Worldometer reports.

The latest COVID-19 tally noted that global deaths stood at 2,514,058.

The number of currently active cases is 21 million. Of the reactive cases, 91,628 (around 0.4 percent) are listed as being in either serious or critical condition.

Meanwhile, over 88 million people have recovered from the virus.

The US has over 29 million cases with more than 519,293 Americans losing their lives to the virus.

 India has recorded more than 11 million cases and 156,861 deaths; and Brazil 10.3 million cases  and 250,079 deaths.

Belize has recorded around 12,271 cases along with 315 deaths. To date, 140 cases remain active.
