By BBN Staff: With only days left before the March 3, Municipal Elections, the United Democratic Party (UDP) Belize City Council slate (UDP 11) has ramped up its campaign efforts with the launch of its new manifesto titled “Build back fi we city.”
The UDP 11, led by Mayoral Candidate Orson Picart, held a virtual launch of the manifesto yesterday, as a part of its efforts to campaign while keeping with the current regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The manifesto focuses on areas such as strengthening the council’s relationship with the people of Belize City, through the establishment of a Community Relations Unit; enhancing the citizen experience by enhancing and upgrading parks and playgrounds; offering employment opportunities and fostering a supportive climate for entrepreneurs and businesses, and paying special attention to sports during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
“You, the residents of this great city have nurtured and grown us into the respectable men and women who are now ready to give back and serve YOU,” Picart said in his Mayoral Candidate address.
The UDP 11 also made promises to City Council employees, which includes job security and the maximization of staff benefits.
