Belize Participates in Special Session of COCESNA

By Aaron Humes: The Central American Corporation for Air Navigation Services, COCESNA in its Spanish acronym, met in a special session on Thursday with Belize represented by Andre Perez, Minister of the Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, and Ms. Kennedy Carrillo, CEO.

COCESNA is a non-profit and public service organization of Central American Integration which provides air traffic services, aeronautical telecommunications, navaids, and aeronautical information for the territories of its member states (all of Central America except for Panama).

The Minister was recently appointed as a member of the Finance Committee of COCESNA. During the meeting, Minister Perez and CEO Carrillo discussed promising opportunities for collaboration to contribute significantly to the development of the Belize Department of Civil Aviation.

The Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation along with COCESNA seeks to continue upgrading air traffic service at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, Belize’s only International Airport and currently the only point of entry into Belize.
