Tourist missing at sea found safe

By BBN Staff: A tourist reported missing near San Pedro this weekend was recovered safely by authorities last night.

William Hespe Js., 55, a resident of Pennsylvania, USA, was staying at a remote island north-west of San Pedro Town and left early Saturday morning to go fishing in a kayak.

He was set to return at midday and when 3:00 p.m. came with no sign of him, his host grew concerned and notified the police. Authorities launched a search for Hespe and found him sometime after 7:00 p.m. about 10 miles west of the area he had originally been.

He told his rescuers that he was overwhelmed by wind and strong currents.

Apart from fatigue, Hespe was otherwise unharmed.
