By BBN Staff: The Buttonwood Bay Branch of Courts Belize Limited (Courts) was robbed earlier this evening, and police have detained two men in connection with the incident.

The Courts branch manager told police that she, her employees, and two customers were in the store around 3:50 p.m. when two men, one of which was armed with a handgun, came into the building.

The men stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cell phones from staff and the customers.

Later, when police detained two suspects, they found one of the cellphones stolen in the robbery along with a toy handgun.

Charges for the men are still pending, as such, their names could not be used.

This is a developing story.
