Man shot in St. Anne Village, victim reportedly knew his shooter

By BBN Staff: A man from St. Anne Village in the Belize District was shot last night, and reports are that he knew the shooter.

Raymond Allen told authorities that he was at his home around 7:20 p.m. when someone called out to him. He went outside to speak with a man whom he knew by name and the man asked Allen if he wanted a cigarette.

Before Allen could answer, the man pulled a 16-gauge shotgun and fired, hitting Allen to the upper right portion of his body.

Allen was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment.

Police are seeking the man who Allen identified.
