COVID-19 UPDATE: Belize City leads daily COVID-19 case count

By Aaron Humes: Belize City tallied three of today’s eight COVID-19 case reports, per the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

It was followed by two cases each in Corozal (one each in the villages of Concepcion and San Narciso) and Stann Creek (one each in Independence and Seine Bight) and one in Belmopan, in the Cayo District.

The Belize District minus San Pedro now has 3,111 cases of COVID-19 cumulatively, followed by 2,487 in Cayo; 2,447 in Orange Walk; 1,593 in Corozal; 1,344 in Stann Creek; 787 in Toledo, and 559 in San Pedro.

There are a grand total of 12,328 confirmed cases of which 11,895 have recovered. The overall positivity rate is just under 16 percent nationally, and the recovery rate is at 96.5 percent.
