Police make significant drug and gun bust in Corozal

By Aaron Humes: Good police work in the north led to a significant gun, ammunition, and drug bust in the Corozal district.

Police saw a suspicious GMC pickup truck in Yo Chen, early on Tuesday morning. The vehicle was occupied by two (2) men who abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene when they realized that police were in the area and approaching them.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 80 rounds of live ammunition, an M4 carbine rifle with 51 rounds of live ammunition, and 29 bales of what is believed to be Mexican high-grade cannabis, weighing almost 700 pounds.
