Belize Coast Guard honors women in uniform with a month of activities

By BBN Staff: March is international women’s month and the theme for this year’s women’s month is: ‘Choose to Challenge’.

Today, the Belize Coast Guard launched their calendar of activities to commemorate the women of the Belize Coast Guard.

A church service was held today to honor the servicewomen.

On Thursday, March 11, a teambuilding activity will be held at Ayala’s pool.

On Friday, March 19, the coast guard will host a health and wellness day with fitness activities.

Then on March 25, the Belize Coast Guard will host a community outreach at the women’s central prison.

The month will culminate with a leadership symposium on March 29.

The theme for the symposium will be: “It is the servicewomen for me”.

“We salute the women of our security forces and recognize them for their significant contribution to national defense, peace, and security,” a statement from the Coast Guard said.
