By BBN Staff: Minister Mai’s Stann Creek tour and the current state of Belizean potatoes are the top headlines in the most recent issue of the Ministry of Agriculture’s newsletter, The AgriBulletin.
As its main story, the newsletter featured Agriculture Minister, Abelardo Mai’s tour through several farms in the Stann Creek District, such as Roseville, TecBel Farms, Kerbo Farms, Corridgeree Farm, Silk Grass Farms, the Sabal Cassava Farm facility, the Marie Sharp pepper processing facility, and the Villafranco farm.
The second story on The AgriBulletin’s cover page is on the potato crops in communities such as La Gracia and San Carlos.
On the inside, The AgriBulletin page two examines the Thrips Outbreak, the New River Cooperative, and the types of chicken available locally. Thrips are a pest affecting the bean crops in the Mennonite community of Indian Creek.
Page three recognizes the contributions of Philip Tate, a well-respected man at the Ministry of Agriculture, and features peppers and Sabal Cassava Farm.
And the back cover page delves into the CDF projects, namely honey production training and Covered Structure assistance.
