Leader of Caribbean Community Climate Change Center to speak on security dimensions

By BBN Staff: Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), Dr. Colin Young, is scheduled to discuss climate and defence this coming week at an online webinar.

The event, 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) will feature discussions on climate change on the Caribbean.

Young will discuss the impacts of climate change on the Caribbean and the current and future roles of defence organisations in the face of evolving climate change risks.

According to Loop, Young has said that the region is already experiencing effects of climate change disasters.

Young says that national governments will need to deal with climate refugees and other challenges.

The theme of the webinar is “Adapt to Defend. The Security Dimension of Climate Change.”
