Over 117 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported around the world

By BBN Staff: More than 117 million people around the world have been infected with COVID-19, Worldometer reports.

The latest COVID-19 tally noted that global deaths stood at 2,614,978.

The number of currently active cases is at 21 million. Of the reactive cases, 89,745 (around 0.4 percent) are listed as being in either serious or critical condition.

Meanwhile, over 93 million people have recovered from the virus.

The US has over 29 million cases with more than 538,777 Americans losing their lives to the virus.

India has recorded more than 11 million cases and 158,075 deaths; and Brazil 11.5 million cases 266,614 deaths.

Belize has recorded around 12,335 cases along with 315 deaths. To date, 88 cases remain active.
