By Aaron Humes: The newly constituted Senate Standing Orders Committee is presently considering amendment to the body’s Standing Orders providing for virtual meetings.
The Senate is joining its counterparts in the House of Representatives in adopting such a motion as they did last month.
At one point last year, both chambers of the National Assembly met with only their established quorum of members – six in the case of the House plus the Speaker and three plus the President of the Senate.
No plan has been put forward as to how such meetings would be accomplished.
We’ll have more as it happens.
