Belmopan shooter escaped on horseback

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, the City of Belmopan was rocked by a mid-morning shooting that took place in the crowded market area, and police say that the culprit made his escape on horseback.

During the incident, Pomona tour guide and fish vendor, Rejinaldo Ruiz Jr., 36, was shot dead while another man Kevin Tillett, 47, was shot to the left arm.

After the shooting, the suspect ran across the road towards the Social Security building where he got onto a horse and rode off towards the Central Walkway.

Police are investigating, but do not have a suspect at this time.
