Commissioner of Police warns against Easter gatherings

Posted: Wednesday, March 10, 2021. 4:19 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, issued a stern warning today that there should be no social gatherings for Easter, as such gatherings are still prohibited under the current COVID-19 prevention regulations.

Williams said that the police department has learned that there are people hosting and attending gatherings and that there are even businesses advertising major social events for the upcoming Easter weekend.

“The general public is advised that they are not to attend or partake in any of these events. The department’s personnel will be out in full force enforcing all COVID-19 regulations. Persons found attending or partaking in any of these events will be dealt with to the full extent of the law,” Williams said.

He went on to ask the public’s assistance in fighting the spread of the virus by complying with all the measures that are in place.

“We are here for you to ensure that we keep our country COVID-19 free,” he added.
