Elderly Belizeans urged to get vaccinated

Posted: Thursday, March 11, 2021. 10:36 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health and Wellness informs that the AstraZeneca vaccines are now available.

Belizeans 60 years and older are now urged to register for vaccination by calling the number of their respective vaccination site.

During this phase, pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding, and children less than 18 years will not be vaccinated.

Those who have been vaccinated are reminded to still practice safety measures.

The ministry noted that the vaccine reduces the severity of the COVID-19 infection and there is also evidence that the vaccine reduces COVID-19 transmission.
