Two detained by police after teenager found apparently “tortured” and graphic videos posted to Facebook live

By Aaron Humes: Police have detained two people and are looking for a third following a report of graphic torture amounting to attempted murder overnight.

Police report that a mobile-unit was responding to a check at a residence on East Collet Canal in the Conch Shell Bay area around 3:00 a.m. today when cops saw a man running from the residence. He was stopped and observed to have been apparently badly beaten.

The victim has been identified as a 16-year-old minor, whose father was contacted and received a medico-legal form on his behalf. He was then taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment.

Police investigation has established that the minor was sent by the owner of the property to buy and on his return, another man pulled him inside the house and, it is alleged, began to torture him in the presence of the home-owner and his common-law wife. A Facebook live video was posted by one of the now-detained men, showing graphic instances of abuse against the minor.

The minor was later able to escape by running out the door and straight into the hands of the police.

Both the homeowner and his partner have been detained while police are searching for the third person as their investigations continue.
