By Benjamin Flowers: Worldometer reports that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally has gone over 120 million.

As of 8:30 a.m. today, Sunday, March 14, 2021, the number of confirmed cases worldwide stood at 120,157,068.

There are over 20.8 million active cases with 89,436 (0.4 percent) listed as serious/critical cases. All other cases are listed as mild.

There have been a total of 2,661,397 deaths reportedly linked to the virus, while over 96.68 million patients have managed to recover from infection.

The United States has recorded over 30 million infections and 546,605 deaths, keeping its position as the hardest-hit country in the world both the number of infections and deaths.

Brazil remains the second-hardest hit country by number of infections and deaths with over 11.4 million cases and 277,261 deaths.

India, which has seen a steady and rapid rise in the number of cases since late last year, has more than 11.3 million cases and is only around 10,000 cases away from tying with Brazil for number of infections. India has also recorded 158,642 deaths, the third-highest in the world.

Belize has recorded 12,370, cases and 316 deaths.
