By BBN Staff: Leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Patrick Faber hosted a virtual meeting with all candidates that ran for the UDP in the municipal elections.
The meeting was held over the weekend.
Faber says that the purpose of the meeting was to thank all the candidates for stepping up to the challenge and running for the UDP at a time when the party’s prospects were not the best.
A statement from the UDP says that Faber also secured their commitment to actively participate in the continuing rebuilding and refocusing of the party as it charts the new way forward.
“The candidates thanked the Party Leader for his recognition and appreciation. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue participating fully in the party’s rebuilding process (despite not having official titles), and to remain active in service to their people and communities,” the statement expressed.
The UDP was able to hold on to the Mayoral seat in San Ignacio and Santa Elena and 1 councillor seat in the same municipality.
