One detained for daylight double shooting on Banak Street

By Aaron Humes: Tempers have flared again in the Banak and Mayflower Street area as two persons were shot this afternoon.

Police are said to have detained one person and are seeking two others in relation to the incident.

At the hospital this afternoon, police found a minor, 16-year-old Kanye King, with a bullet graze and 34-year-old Percival Pilgrim of Banak Street with multiple gunshot injuries.

The duo was walking toward Lakeview Street from Banak around 2:30 this afternoon and upon passing an alleyway that leads to Mayflower Street, three men came from a yard and two of them fired at the minor and Pilgrim. 

Percival Pilgrim remains in a critical condition as of this writing in the hospital while King is also being treated.

The area has been the site of numerous armed conflicts including one that left three persons injured earlier this year and police coming under fire as well.
