Weather: All change as showers arrive this afternoon

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says fair and warm weather prevailing this morning will give way to increasing showers later.

The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and little or no rainfall this morning. As the day progresses skies will turn cloudier and isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop mainly inland this afternoon and tonight, spreading to most areas.

High temperatures are 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 96 inland and 82 in the hills. Tonight expect temperatures of 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 69 inland and 62 in the hills.

Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots and conditions are moderate to rough; a small craft caution remains in effect.

Low tide was at 6:47 am followed by high tide at 12:33 pm and low at 7:58 pm. The sun sets at 6:03 this evening.

Friday will see cloudy skies with showers, thunderstorms and periods of rain over most areas.
