Education Minister meet with National Garifuna Council

By Zoila Palma: Today, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Francis Fonseca met with members of the National Garifuna Council (NGC).

Present at the meeting were Roy Cayetano, Elder and former Deputy Chief Education Officer; Phyllis Cayetano, Manager of Gulisi Primary School; Sandra Miranda, NGC President; Sheena Zuniga, NGC Secretary; Melissa Zuniga, NGC Project Coordinator; and Dr. Gwen Nunez Gonzalez, Education Officer and NGC Belmopan Branch President.  

Discussions focused mainly on education and culture.

“Fonseca expressed his full support for and commitment to the continued work of the NGC in the spirit of ‘Aban Isieni’ – One Love,” a statement from the ministry said.
