By Zoila Palma: Education Ministers, stakeholders discuss reopening of face-to-face classes
The discussions were based on the urgent re-opening of schools for face-to-face classes.
The meeting was held virtually on March 17, 2021.
Fonseca was joined by Principal Education Officer Carla Alvarez.
Regional experiences and strategic plans for the re-opening of classes were shared.
Fonseca made presentations on behalf of Belize and highlighted plans for a phased and safe re-opening of schools.
“Minister Fonseca’s position underscores the efforts being made by the Belize Covid 19 – Education Task Force to ensure that the gradual reopening of schools is to be accomplished in the most responsible manner,” a statement from the Ministry stated.
During the meeting, presentations were also made by key partners in Education such as UNESCO, UNICEF and the US Centers for Disease Control.
