Man dies after falling 200 feet from SMART tower

By Aaron Humes: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams on Thursday confirmed that there was a fatal fall from a SMART telecommunications tower in Belize City.

Police responded to the area at about 3:00 p.m. and observed the motionless body of the man, now identified as Jevaughan Ramclam, who was later pronounced dead at hospital. They are satisfied that no foul play was involved.

We are told that Ramclam is the son of a contractor and was ascending to begin working on the tower, located near Benny’s Home Center on the Philip Goldson Highway. He may not have been strapped to the tower while working and a slip sent him falling some 200 feet to the ground, sustaining massively fatal injuries.
