Man shot by police in attempt to escape custody

By BBN Staff: A man was shot by police about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 20th March, 2021 as he tried to escape from police custody. 

According to the police, 26 year old Ryan Foster was detained and whilst being escorted to wash his hands before entering Precinct 2 in Belize City, he attempted to escape from police custody. A police officer fired a single shot at Foster injuring him.

Foster was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for medical attention and is listed in a stable condition.

At the scene of the shooting at Precinct 2, police retrieved one (1) .9mm Aguila brand expended shell.
