Gas pain! Premium now over $11

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, the Government of Belize announced that the price of Premium fuel will be going up over $1.20 sending the price over $11.

Less than a week after the last gas price hike, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that on, Tuesday, March 23, 2021, the pump price of premium gasoline will increase by $1.24 from $10.40 to $11.64 per gallon.

The MOF said that the prices of regular gasoline, kerosene, and diesel will remain unchanged at $10.92, $6.75, and $10.15 per gallon, respectively.

“The price change reflects current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies,” the Ministry said.

The news comes just three days after the MOF announced that regular fuel would increase by 86 cents from $10.06 to $10.92 per gallon.

This latest change represents the eighth price adjustment for fuel for 2021 and the third adjustment in the month of March.
