Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations extends condolences on passing of conservationist, Sharon Matola

By Zoila Palma: The Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler extended sympathies on the passing of conservationist and founder of the Belize Zoo, Sharon Matola.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Sharon Matola. She made a difference in our country with the work that she did at the zoo and in the preservation of our wildlife. Rest In Peace,” Mahler said.

Prime Minister John Briceno and other officials as well as the U.S. Embassy and thousands of Belizeans have joined in extending condolences on her passing.
