Agriculture Ministry donates seedlings to pre-school students

By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Orange Walk Education Department issued seedlings to preschool students of La Inmaculada Primary School.

The Ministry noted that the seedling donation is to promote Family Gardening.

“Family gardening plays a significant role especially in times of crisis. Encouraging our children to eat what we grow and being self-sufficient will help us to be food secure,” the ministry reminded.

Agriculture extension officer, Miguel Huertas demonstrated the process from soil preparation to the planting stage.

“We hope that our future farmers enjoy this event and will greatly benefit from it,” the ministry added.
