By BBN Staff: Belize Island Holding Limited, the parent company of Harvest Caye announced today that the company is looking for a nurse to assist with maintaining the health and well-being of its staff and guests.

Other responsibilities related to the post include administering safe nursing care to all patients in accordance with the island medical plan and pursuant to the NCL nursing objectives and policies; conducting patient assessments by observation, reporting and recording patient condition and changes, as well as physical, emotional and social needs of the patients; maintaining staff illness and injury logs; completing relevant paperwork associated with various medical situations; maintaining team member illness logs and medical files; executing medical emergency procedures in accordance with the emergency action plan; ordering medical supplies and equipment; performing weekly checks of emergency equipment and maintenance of all Medical Center equipment; and properly disposing of hazardous waste and used sharps.

“We offer competitive salaries based on experience and qualifications,” the company added.

The successful applicant will also be required to actively participate in staff member education and training programs; possess good working knowledge of the paperwork associated with operations of the Medical Center; ensure that the environment for patient, visitor, and staff care is clean and must always be available during operating hours on Harvest Caye. Applicants must be the holder of a valid Social Security Card.

The company also noted that the successful applicant must be able to perform other duties from time to time as directed. “The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.”
