Authorities recover body of drowned prison officer from the Sibun River

By Benjamin Flowers: A rescue team has recovered the body of Denton Rivas, a prison guard who was suspected to have drowned on Monday in the Sibun River.

Rivas had reportedly gone swimming with members of his family in the Gracie Rock area, Mile 21 on the George Price Highway, on Monday when he dived and never resurfaced.

Searches were conducted since then and around 10:30 a.m. today authorities found the body.

Police say that foul play is not suspected and that a post mortem examination on the body is pending.
