By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and E-Governance joins the nation in wishing our national football team, the Belize Jaguars, all the best as they take on the Haiti National Football Team in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

The Ministry informed that it has been in constant contact with the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) since the team was held up by armed men upon their arrival in Haiti.

“We have assured the FFB that we will assist in any way possible since the welfare of our players, coaching staff and support personnel remains a priority. We have been informed that all security measures have been taken by FIFA and the host country officials to guarantee their safety,” the ministry noted.

The Ministry said that despite their mishap, our Jaguars have shown their determination to play and represent Belize.

“We are proud and confident that they will represent our nation and people well. Go, Jaguars! Make us proud!”
