By Zoila Palma: Today, Mexico’s COVID-19 death toll hit 200,000 becoming the 3rd country in the world to reach that mark. The country has now registered 200,211 COVID-19 associated deaths.
The country has launched its vaccination campaign but there is fear that the near Easter holidays may fuel a 3rd wave.
Some residents are reminding others that COVID-19 is still out there and despite vaccines, they should adhere to precautionary measures.
The country has administered 6.1 million vaccine doses with 767,979 people having received the full 2 doses, Reuters report.
Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has indicated that the armed forces and medical personnel would be fully involved to accelerate the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.
Lopez Obrador told the media on Wednesday that the country must be prepared for a possible 3rd wave.
