Ana Lopez wins Baby Leonel 5K in 21 mins, 22 secs

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Splash Elite’s Ana Lopez, who ran in Esperanza, won the Baby Leonel virtual 5-kilometer race organized by runners’ community in 21 minutes 22 seconds. This event, put together to help baby Leonel Carrillo get emergency surgery, raised $1005.00.

Marta Carias of San Roman, Corozal, was second clocking 24:12 followed by Irene Thiessen of Westrac Ltd in Belmopan taking 3rd place in 24:21. In San Ignacio, Roxana Lemus of Westrac Ltd secured the fourth spot in 27:33 while Stacey Pelayo of the Shuga City Run Club ran 5th in 27:45.

Westrac’s Xenia Rauda took sixth in 27:56 running in Spanish Lookout. The next two ran in Belize City. Lucelly Ramos of Powered by Plants finished 7th in 28:13 and Lliani Ordonez of Heart & Sole was 8th in 28:41. Consuelo Espat in San Ignacio did the five kilometres in 28:44 taking the 9th spot.

And rounding of the top ten, in Placencia, Nazle Westby of the Splash Running Club timed 30:11 for 10th

42 runners participated.
