Belizean Councilors to serve in Caribbean Association of Local Government Authorities

Posted: Friday, March 26, 2021. 3:16 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belize City Council announced that Belize City councilor, Natasha Pipersburgh, and Orange Walk councilor Doreth Pascasio will serve in the women division of the Caribbean Association of Local Government Authorities.

The Belize City Council said that as we near the end of Women’s Month, the light must continue to be shined on admirable women in leadership who continue to act as influential forces in our society.

The appointments were made today during a session of the Belize Mayors’ Association.

“These representatives will assist in addressing issues and concerns of women serving in local government, supporting and training Caribbean women for service in local government, while providing a regional platform to increase the voices of women in Caribbean local government,” the council noted.

BBN joins the council in congratulating Councilors Pipersburgh and Pascascio as they explore this new undertaking.
