Posted: Monday, March 29, 2021. 11:50 am CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) is investigating the cause of an unplanned power outage in the Belize District this morning.

BEL said that the area affected runs along the George Price Highway and that crews have been deployed in an effort to restore power to affected areas as quickly as possible.

Thus far we have confirmed that a portion of the Fabers Road Extension area up to the 8 miles Community known as Western Paradise was affected. Power has since been restored to portions along this area.

This is a developing story.
