Benque Viejo police officer shot during investigation

By BBN Staff: A Benque Viejo police officer was shot this morning while responding to a call of a shooting incident.

PC Felton Williams and another officer responded to a report of a shooting in the vicinity of 1C Street in Benque Viejo Town when they came under fire and ended up in a shootout.

Williams was hit to the left leg in the exchange and taken to the San Ignacio Community Hospital for treatment. He is listed as being in stable condition.

The officers saw two men fleeing the scene of the incident and an investigation into their identities is on-going.
