By Zoila Palma: Minister of Youth, Sports and E-Governance, Kevin Bernard and Jose Urbina, CEO in the Ministry, met with Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Belize, Gerardo Argote.
According to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and E-Governance, the discussions included areas of development and cooperation in sports and youth between both countries.
Bernard thanked Ambassador Argote and shared his readiness for collaboration.
“I share my deepest appreciation and readiness for continued work efforts with our neighbour Venezuela. This is a continued step to advance the development of youth and sports in the country,” Bernard said.
Ambassador Aegshared his desire to send experts to train Belizeans in the sport of baseball.
In addition, Minister Bernard and Argote discussed future collaborations on sports and e-governance initiatives.
“Minister Bernard and H.E. Argote hope to have a friendly football game with the Belize Jaguars versus the Venezuela national under-20 football team when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted,” the Ministry noted.
