By Benjamin Flowers: Last week the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MECST) announced a plan for the phased reopening of schools for face-to-face learning beginning as early as April 12; however, Sacred Heart College has decided to opt-out of returning to in-person classes for the remainder of the school year.
A letter issued on Monday by the President of the institution, Rocio Carballo, said that Sacred Heart will be completing the 2020-2021 school year fully online.
“Fourth form students sitting Arts, PE, and CXC IT will be allowed to be on the campus, supervised by their teacher, to complete their SBA,” the school said.
The school also noted that the plan is to reopen for face-to-face learning, in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Sacred Heart College stressed that the decision was taken for the safety of the students, faculty, and staff.
