“Curfew will be extended,” says Police Commissioner

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams confirmed this morning that the Government of Belize will extend the current curfew as part of the COVID-19 prevention protocols.

Williams said that he has discussed the curfew extension with the Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat, as well as the Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa. Both Ministers have confirmed that an updated Statutory Instrument will be issued in the coming days which will include an extension of the curfew. 

Williams noted that he does not know for certain if the curfew will remain in place from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., but he feels that it might be.
