Shyne Barrow gets vaccinated and encourages everyone to do so

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Area Representative for Mesopotamia for the United Democratic Party, Shyne Barrow, got his first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine today. Shyne’s vaccination is part of Phase 2B which includes Members of the National Assembly, the Judiciary, and Customs & Immigration.

Barrow wrote: “I GOT VACCINATED!!! I encourage everyone in Mesopotamia and the rest of the country to get vaccinated when your time comes.”

Over 20,000 people have been vaccinated according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The Ministry said that it is now in Phase 2C and is now calling on the “Tourism Sector 40 years and older” to get vaccinated.

Barrow said getting vaccinated is imperative if we want to overcome the pandemic.

“We need to safely reopen our economy and get our people back to work,” Barrow said. “Vaccination is essential to our safety and economic recovery,”

Belize received 33,600 vaccines today through the PAHO COVAX facility. With the 1,000 from Barbados and the 25,000 from India, Belize has now received a total of 59,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
